A discovery into the brand
Why GWM? First the car, second the car, third the car.
‘Good enough’ isn’t in our vocabulary. With an uncompromising focus on innovation, quality, growth and safety, we are determined to become a major influence on the global automotive industry.
The sustainability of the planet, and of GWM, means a dedication towards advanced technologies and the development of renewable energy sources.
Our Philosophy
There’s a simple philosophy we live by here at GWM. It’s what unites us as a company. It’s also what separates us from the rest of the competition. ‘Improving little by little everyday’.
This thinking has not only steered the way we approach every new car we build. It’s also guided the culture and wellbeing of our staff, the value we create for our customers, and the contribution we make to society.
It’s a testament to how far we’ve come as a car manufacturer from the day our very first vehicle rolled off the production line. And it’s a demonstration of our passion for innovation and growth, as evidenced in the daily advances we are achieving through our engineering capabilities, technologies, world-class research facilities, and the huge investment in new energy vehicles to accelerate the pace from low emissions to no emissions. All for the betterment of the planet and our customers overall driving experience.

Industry Leading Technology
Technology is at the centre of everything we do. This is based on GWM’s principle of ‘excessive investment’ in Research and Development (R&D) to enhance effectiveness, seek industry leadership and lay the foundation for continuous independent innovation. In fact, today GWM has established the most advanced automotive R&D centers in Baoding, Beijing, Shanghai, the United States, Germany, Japan, Canada, South Korea, Austria and India, with each center dedicated to a specific field or function including:
- New Energy
- Autonomous Driving
- Interior and Exterior Design
- Intelligent Network Connectivity
- Trial Production
- Modelling
- Data
GWM has even built a ‘High Performance Proving Ground’, which consists of a high-speed circuit, test hills track, a city square and bespoke handling track, covering an area of more than 45 kilometres. The total length of the high-speed circuit is over 7 kilometres long, with a maximum inclination up to 47 degrees. And at its peak, the bend is designed to handle speeds of 240 km/h, ranking it No. 1 for high-speed test tracks in China.
